Copperwood School
Copperwood Elementary School serves over 900 students in grades K-8. While technically part of the Peoria Unified School District, Copperwood Elementary makes its home in the Barrel council district of Glendale. The school’s mission statement: “Our mission is to provide students with a quality education so that they may reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally and become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. As a community, we work cooperatively and responsibly to maintain a safe environment and achieve extraordinary levels of teaching and learning. We respect, care for and trust each other; appreciate diversity; communicate honestly; and share decision making to maximize achievement for all students.” Neighborhoods found in Copperwood School’s attendance zone include:
- Friends and Neighbors of Montara Park: Friends and Neighbors of Montara Park is home to 133 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1983 and registered in 2000, this neighborhood is found in the Barrel council district, and is home to Montara Park.
- Garden Eye: Garden Eye is home to only 19 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1979 and registered in 1997, this neighborhood is found in the Barrel council district, and is home to Sunnyside Park.
- Oakhollow Homeowners Association: Oakhollow Homeowners Association is home to 209 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1988 and registered in 1994, this homeowners association is found in the Barrel council district, and is home to Sunnyside Park.
Marshall Ranch Elementary School
Marshall Ranch Elementary School serves over 750 students in grades K-8. While technically part of the Peoria Unified School District, Marshall Ranch Elementary makes its home in the Saguaro council district of Glendale. The school’s mission statement: “Believing that all children can learn, our staff, parents and community will help prepare children for life through mutual respect, rigorous instruction, guidance and encouragement. The programs which make up the educational experience will promote academic, physical, emotional and social growth while preparing children for the lifelong process of learning. - Riviera Drive Estates HOA: Riviera Drive Estates is home to only 10 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 2004 and registered in 2005, this homeowners association is found in the Barrel council district.
- Villas Glendale Townhouse Association: Villas Glendale is home to 194 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1973 and registered in 2001, this neighborhood association is found in the Saguaro council district, and is home to Acoma Park.
- Wild Horse Ranch: Wild Horse Ranch is home to 35 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1977 and registered in 1999, this neighborhood is found in the Barrel Council District, and is home to Sunnyside Park and Cholla Park.
Apollo High School
Apollo High School was established in 1970, and is ranked among the best high schools in the nation. It currently serves over 1850 students in grades 9-12. Part of the A-rated Glendale Union High School District, Apollo High makes its home in the Cactus council district of Glendale. The school’s mission statement: “To empower students for the choices and challenges of the 21st century.” Neighborhoods found in Apollo High School’s attendance zone include:
- Birds of Paradise Neighbors: Bird of Paradise is home to 177 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1974 and registered in 1999, this neighborhood is found in the Cactus council district, and is home to Horizon Park and New World Park, as well as Horizon Elementary.
- Glen Acres: Glen Acres is home to only 37 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1956 and registered in 1995, this neighborhood is found in the Cactus council district, and is home to Vista Park.
- Trends ‘84: Trends ‘84 is home to 198 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1984 (as the name would suggest) and registered in 2001, this neighborhood is found in the Cactus council district, and is home to Delicias Park.
Glendale High School
Glendale High School was founded in 1911 and is one of the longest-standing high schools in the state of Arizona. It currently serves over 1650 students in grades 9-12. Part of the A-rated Glendale Union High School District, Glendale High makes its home in the council district of Glendale. The school’s mission statement: “Our mission is to empower all students for the choices and challenges of the 21st century by ensuring opportunity and excellence in their educational experience.” Neighborhoods found in Glendale High School’s attendance zone include:
- Catlin Court Historic District Association: Catlin Court is home to 78 households, 75 of which are single-family homes, and 3 of which are multi-family units. Built in 1913 and registered one hundred years later, this historic neighborhood is found in the Ocotillo council district, and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Glendale.
- Manistee Ranch HOA: Manistee Ranch is home to 587 households, 411 of which are single-family homes, and 176 of which are multi-family units. Built in 1999 and registered in 2003, this homeowners association is found in the Cactus council district, and its website can be found here.
- Thunderbird Estates: Thunderbird Estates is home to 167 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1971 and registered in 1998, this neighborhood is found in the Barrel council district, and is home to Butler Park.
Independence High School
Independence High School was established in 1977 and boasts both education excellence and a number of extracurricular activities for students to be involved in. It currently serves over 1900 students in grades 9-12. Part of the A-rated Glendale Union High School District, Independence High makes its home in both the Yucca and Ocotillo council districts of Glendale. - Griffin Historic Neighborhood: Griffin is home to only 17 households, all of which are single-family homes. Built in 1911 and registered in 2000, this neighborhood is found in the Yucca council district, and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Glendale.
- O’Neill Ranch Association: O’Neill Ranch is home to a whopping 1342 households, 1332 of which are single-family homes, and 10 of which are multi-family units. Built in 1959 and registered in 1996, this neighborhood association is found in the Ocotillo council district, and is home to Windsor Park and O’Neill Park.
