This week we want to share with you some of our favorite spots to eat in Glendale, AZ, where our main office is located. CENTURY 21 loves supporting our local, individually owned businesses in any way that we can. Besides, isn’t it refreshing to NOT eat at a chain every once in a while? Glendale has a variety of really interesting little neighborhoods and a lot of historical sites with great restaurants. Two of the places on this list have even been featured on The Food Network! Take your significant other out for a pizza and a drink or bring the whole family to enjoy a homestyle German meal from these great restaurants.
1. Kiss the Cook

CENTURY 21 ’s Menu Favorites: Eggs Benedict, Build-Your-Own Omelet, Zucchini Muffins
This homestyle breakfast and brunch place is a Glendale neighborhood gem. Always filled with locals, their whole menu is worth trying! It is attached to an antique shop, which is reflected in the warm vintage decor. There are plenty of options for the vegetarian in your family, such as the wide selection of omelets. We especially love that the “seasonal fruit” is actually fresh and seasonal! Our problem is usually filling up on the mouthwatering mini-muffins before the food arrives at the table…

CENTURY 21 ’s Menu Favorites: Huevos Rancheros, Chicken Torta
Want a little day-trip to Mexico? Stop by the Ranch Market, part grocer, part restaurant. CENTURY 21 Northwest recommends testing out something you have never tried before! Many of the fruits and dishes are unidentifiable; this Glendale neighborhood hotspot is as much a learning experience as a food-destination. We sampled some of the unusual chiles and the sandía (watermelon) and papaya aguas frescas (fresh fruit drinks). The food is authentic and diverse, with generous portions for the whole family. Remember to brush up on your Spanish and enjoy the colorful, lively Ranch Market.

CENTURY 21 ’s Menu Favorites: Cherry Strudel (dessert first, always!), the Hackbraten
Featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, this authentic German restaurant is worth a drive just for the experience. With an in-house tuba and accordion duo, the atmosphere both inside and in the ‘bier garten’ is fun and interactive. Warning: this Glendale neighborhood place does not mess around. The portions are huge, whether you are into the schnitzel or the sausage! Be sure to wash down your meal with one of the unique German beers. CENTURY 21 recommends that you show up early because the wait time can often be long.

CENTURY 21 ’s Menu Favorites: Stuffed Shrimp, Margarita Pizza
Yet another feature on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, this brick oven pizzeria is fresh and charming. Located in the historic downtown Glendale neighborhood, this family-run Italian kitchen is to die for (and go to Pizza Heaven, of course). Right next to Glendale Glitters, it is the perfect family or date-night place for the holidays!
5. Ginger China Bistro

CENTURY 21 ‘s Menu Favorites: Sesame Chicken, Asian Pear Salad, Curry-Style Chicken
In the land of expensive chains and greasy, MSG-filled Chinese food, Ginger is a small, refreshing beacon of hope. It is a modern, clean twist on classic Chinese dishes. The restaurant is small with a simple menu, but each dish is done well. It’s a great place for group meals or dates! The only downside is it is a little pricey, but then again, most good Chinese food is.
