These few months of summer are known to be spent on Phoenix golf courses with friends, family, and clients alike. It’s the perfect activity that gets you out of the house and socializing with others. And you don’t have to worry about getting a sunburn because of shade provided by trees, cool air provided by local lakes and ponds, and air conditioned and misted carts that take you to each hole. Phoenix golf courses have everything to offer and more to keep you entertained this summer if you know which ones to visit. Here are the top four courses that provide different atmospheres and amenities to suit your needs for outdoor activities in Phoenix.
If you’re not new to the golfing game, you’re probably looking for a course that will challenge your skills. The Aguila Golf Course is one of the best Phoenix golf courses on the West Side of the Valley. It’s not only praised for its challenging layout and design for all levels of golfers, but it’s also has great scenic views like South Mountain and three different lakes. There is an 18 hole course and 9 hole course that you can choose from and if you’ve built up an appetite by the end of the course, you can stop by the Eagle’s Nest Cafe on your way out! They have breakfast, lunch, beer, and wine access in an indoor setting to keep you cool and relaxed.
Even if you are a beginner who wants to be challenged, Aguila Golf Course offers private lessons for those at any skill level and even offer junior golf lessons if you want to make this a summer activity for your kids. Their Men’s Club meets monthly to compete and play for prizes if you’re looking for some motivation to enhance your golfing abilities. There is sadly no Ladies Club at this golf course yet, but luckily other nearby courses have this option if it’s something you’re interested in!
Golf players who are less intrigued by competition but love socializing will love visiting the Encanto Golf Course to enjoy a more casual atmosphere. This 18 and 9 hole course was established in 1935 and is the oldest golf course in Arizona. It has a spectacular skyline view of Downtown Phoenix as well as wide level fairways and a limited number of hazards to make each game as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Players of any skill level can kick back with a beer and hot dog at this popular Phoenix golf course.
Encanto Golf Course is not only great for it’s relaxing courses, but also has wonderful dining options at Mulligan’s Cafe if you’re looking for a bar-and-grill-type restaurant. Encanto Men’s Club has been around for over 80 years and has sponsored handicap flighted monthly tournaments for 55 years that challenge individual, two-man, and four-man events. Simply put, their members are drawn together by the feeling of extended family and easy natured camaraderie among other golf members.
While golfing with family and close friends is fun, sometimes golfing is the perfect excuse to take a client out and get to know them. The Phoenician is the ideal place to mix business and entertainment. Taking your client to a classy Phoenix golf course will show them that you’re serious about your work relationship by treating them to a fun game. The Phoenician has many great amenities that come with playing each course such as fully stocked electric carts with towels, tees, a yardage guide, divot repair tool, personalized cart signs, and scorecards that keep your client feeling taken care of and satisfied.
The Phoenician golf course snack shop, The 19th Hole, is also a great place to bring a client to talk and enjoy a good meal together after your game. And aside from their respectable setting, this golf course is unique because of it’s beautiful surroundings. It has four courses that make up 6,300 yards of extraordinary terrain like wonderful greenery, desert views, and Arizona’s only sand-island green! Highly rated and highly recommended by many, the Phoenician makes an exquisite place to bring your business to.
Among all the socializing and business, the most important thing to remember is that golf courses are meant to cheer you up and help you engage in some physical activity over the summer. If you appreciate the sport and practice of golfing, you’ll love visiting We-Ko-Pa Golf Club. With two award-winning 18 hole courses: Cholla and Saguaro, a 10,000 square foot clubhouse with restaurant, golf shop, and lounge areas for your comfort; this course feels more like a resort with it’s breathtaking views of the McDowell Mountains, Red Mountain, Four Peaks, and Superstition Mountain. You’ll enjoy the landscape whether you choose to to visit the Cholla course that is recognized as the reference course for a quintessential desert style golf course, or if you choose Saguaro which is a much more traditional-style course where it follows the natural movement of the land.
Phoenix has a lot to offer when it comes to entertainment options and knowing what’s near your neighborhood can help you stay engaged and active throughout the year. Phoenix golf courses are excellent for taking company of any kind for a fun day out.
